Issue Management Systems
Issue Management systems in common MS Office application MS Access. They have electronic data entry forms and reports that filter the data in innovative and customisable ways.

For example, to facilliatate meetings using the Meetings Access database there is no need to maintain separate agenda and minutes; there is no cutting and pasting data, everything is handled in only one file, with each issue occupying one line of the database. Information is entered by means of a simple electronic entry form. Information is retrieved by filtering the data in forms and reports in fully customisable ways. Reports such as ‘Unclosed Issues’, 'Overdue Issues' and ‘Closed Issues’ can be used effectively as ‘Agenda’ and ‘Minutes’.

The meeting process therefore involves reviewing previous meeting closed issues, tackling any unclosed issues, raising and dealing with new agenda items and reviewing trends. The database never loses any data. It is always available for later review using customisable reports.
All issues that are raised remain in the database as separate lines and are available for searching at any time later filtered by meeting type, person responsible or issue type. Meetings may be categorised by type, meaning that the same database can be used for a number of different types of meetings, or just copy the file to start two separate databases for separate meeting types.
Similar exception recording and review processes have been developed for:-
